Yes, we accept various insurance plans such as Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, United, Magellan, Husky/ Medicaid, and Medicare. Since Art and Soul is a collective, each of our clinicians may vary in which types of insurance they accept.
We also offer cash-based options and reduced rates for clients interested in working with our student therapists. Each student therapist is directly supervised by one of our licensed clinicians, so there are actually two therapists on these cases.
Yes, we provide therapy services for clients of all ages, including children and adolescents. Our therapists are experienced in working with younger clients to address their unique needs.
Sometimes though, we can only help a child to the extent that their support system is also functioning well. To that end, we also offer therapy for adults, as well as family sessions, in order to achieve the most optimal results!
Yes, all therapy sessions are confidential. We adhere to strict privacy standards to ensure your information is protected, except in cases required by law. This also means that we do not inform parents of everything their child/teen chooses to discuss in therapy.
If a child is struggling to share something with a parent, we will be working with them to help them get to a place where they are comfortable. Parents are also welcomed to ask for updates, and the therapist will work with the child to help share how things are going.
Whether child, teen or adult, we are mandated reporters and will need to break confidentiality if there is a real risk of harm to a person, especially a minor.
During your first therapy session, you will discuss your goals, concerns, and background with your therapist in a comfortable, friendly chat over (optional) coffee or tea. This helps us understand your needs and create a personalized treatment plan.
For kids and teens, we get the parents' input ahead of time, and will likely invite our younger client to participate in art-making or other relaxed activity while we get to know them.
