Samantha Hepworth, Holistic CMHC Candidate
Holistic Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate Student
Sam is a third year graduate student at Salve Regina University pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Holistic Counseling. Sam brings a unique perspective to counseling through her past career experience in Higher Education and Entrepreneurship and her most recent role as an executive function tutor. She has a bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in Applied Physics from American University.
Sam has always been interested in roles that allowed her to support young people in achieving their goals. From supporting STEM students at Southern Connecticut State University through grants and career development programming to working with the student founders at the Yale School of Management Program on Entrepreneurship, Sam was always focused on helping others. These roles helped solidify her desire to work with teens and young adults. As a graduate student, Sam has been working with students in Branford and Guilford who need academic support through an executive functioning lens.
Sam was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and uses her own experience to bring empathy and understanding to working with neurodiverse clients. She is a firm believer in the idea that if a system doesn't work, we should adjust the system to better fit the person, not the other way around.
